Unproduced Sketch: Be Our Guest (for Most People)

There was a period where song parodies were a staple part of the CollegeHumor video offering. Over time we made fewer music videos because they’re comparatively expensive without guaranteeing more views. Music videos need composers, dancers, and singers. There are a lot more shots than the average sketch, and those shots tend to be more complicated. And once you’ve put in that work and money, there will still be people who believe that song parodies are the lowest form of comedy. And, to be fair, they CAN be pretty bad. In fact, I hesitated to even share this one. But I think if you respect the original meter and rhyme scheme, and if you have a reason to comment about something in the original song, then they can totally work.

Anyway, here’s “Be Our Guest” but it’s about the challenges most people face the first time they try to host a dinner.
